Sunita Jindal

Dr. Sunita Jindal is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Plant Molecular Biology at the Biology Centre, Czech Academy of Sciences, where her research focuses on understanding the molecular dynamics of receptor kinases in regulation of symplastic communication during abiotic stress. A central theme of her past research works has been the molecular mechanisms that establish a balance between growth and defense pathways with particular emphasis on nutrient sensing, hormonal crosstalk, and stress-responsive pathways.

During her visit to BioAtlantis, she contributed to the CropPrime project by designing and testing dsRNA molecules to target several essential genes in B. cinerea, a common fungal pathogen in crops. These dsRNA molecules were efficient as antifungal agents as they targeted RNAi-mediated silencing of the essential genes required for normal fungal propagation.
