Sujeeth Neerakkal

Dr. Sujeeth Neerakkal is a molecular biologist with over 15 years of experience in research and development, as well as project management. Since completing his PhD in Plant Molecular Biology in 2010, his research has focused on understanding the complex interactions between plants, biotic and abiotic agents, and the environment. He is representing BioAtlantis Ltd., an Irish company which manufactures natural bioactives to modulate defence, microbiota and performance in the crop biostimulant sector.

He is engaged in characterising the molecular mechanisms activated by SuperFifty® Prime, a specific bio stimulant developed by BioAtlantis Ltd. His role includes evaluating the effects of SuperFifty on global protein abundance through shotgun proteomics, as well as identifying differentially regulated histone marks in Arabidopsis that may be induced by the extract at the epigenetic level to facilitate plant priming. Additionally, he is actively involved in the development of a dsRNA-based biofungicide targeting fungal pathogens in tomato plants as part of the CropPrime project.
