Candela Brugnara

Candela Brugnara is a PhD student at CEFOBI-CONICET in Argentina. Her research focuses on unveiling the signalling pathways that restore cellular energy homeostasis when it is disrupted by abiotic stress. Her work combines physiological and molecular approaches to elucidate stress sensing and response mechanisms in Arabidopsis thaliana.
During her secondment at the Spanish National Research Council – Zaidín Experimental Station (EEZ-CSIC), she evaluated the effect of rosmarinic acid on A. thaliana seedlings at different time points as a plant priming agent. She focused on mapping regions of accessible chromatin under rosmarinic acid treatment using novel epigenetic techniques. Additionally, she investigated whether this compound is involved in autophagy using molecular and cellular localization approaches.
