Camila Coronel

Camila has a Master's degree in Biotechnology from the National University of Rosario (UNR), oriented towards Plant Biology and Agrobiotechnology. She made her Master' thesis at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Rosario, IBR-CONICET, Argentina. It was focused on the biology of development of Arabidopsis roots, and the regulatory network behind the growth process. She acquired knowledge in genetics, confocal microscopy, molecular biology, and imaging analysis. Camila is currently working in the biotic stress field, studying molecular genetics of plant-pathogen interactions, at IBR-CONICET.
During her CropPrime secondment at CPSBB, Camila studied biostimulant-induced priming under abiotic stress using a collection of Arabidopsis thaliana knockout mutants, with the aim of elucidating the molecular pathways underlying the biostimulant's mechanisms of action. She also performed genotyping and gene expression analyses using PCR-based techniques to characterize mutant lines and generate additional mutants to study molecular mechanisms behind different bioproducts, as rosemary plant-based extracts.
