Alicja Wieteska Georgieva

Dr. Alicja Wieteska Georgieva conducted her PhD studies in Poland, where she researched rare herb species and their medicinal properties. She joined the CPSBB team in 2023 and is primarily focused on identifying genes that contribute to higher yields and improved nutritional value under unfavorable conditions in crop species such as tomato and pepper.

In CropPrime she participates in an interdisciplinary secondment focused on understanding the response of biostimulant-primed tomato to drought. Her work combines physiological and molecular approaches, including epigenetic mechanisms, to better understand how plants adapt to environmental challenges.
